John Pointon & Sons Ltd. is proposing to build a new access road along with an energy resource centre enabling us to donate 11 acres of land for local recreational use, this brochure is designed to tell you more about these exciting projects.

The traditional outlets for products in animal feed are no longer allowed. As a short term measure the products, meat / bone meal and tallow, are either incinerated or sent to landfill. A better and environmentally friendly use for these materials are renewable energy sources.
This proposal is to create an energy resource centre that will convert these materials into electricity and biodiesel.We currently have planning permission for a piece of land off the Cheddleton road known locally as the former Berresford Bus Depot (see plans).

We feel using this land to develop the new energy resource centre is not the best practical option so in order to make our facilities more contained we are planning to swap this with land adjoining the existing factory.The new access road will enable the former Berresford Bus Depot to be developed into a Sport & Recreational facility for use by the local community.

A planning application is proposed that will cover both of these elements. This is your opportunity to air your views before this is submitted.
