John Pointon & Sons Ltd. has committed themselves to continued improvement that will not only minimise their impact on the local environment but will also result in positive outcomes for the local community.

This year again we will be making further substantial investments, the majority of which will be spent on further reducing the environmental impact on the local surroundings.

John Pointon & Sons Ltd. has a highly effective water conservation project which has been in operation now for three years.

Last year alone we recycled 109,200,000 litres of water on site. An equivalent of filling over 1,365,000 baths! We already generate our own green electricity and aim to be a major supplier to the national grid.

We are working with the Forestry Commission on a woodland regeneration project and have recently planted more than 11,000 trees. We are also working closely with the relevant organisations to manage and sustain an area of peat land designated as an SSSI (Special Site of Scientific Interest) and a bluebell wood.
